Cork Folk Festival

Cork Folk Festival
All the Candy!
For the past few days Cork has been having its annual Folk Festival.  There were a ton of events, but being a college student, I only attended free events.  On Saturday, Kayla, Kyla and I went to Food and Folk on the Grand Parade.  There were quite a few food stands ranging from a chocolate fountain to falafel to fajitas to all of the candy in the world.  We all got quite a bit of candy.  There was some traditional music, but some stands were playing their own music and kinda drowned it out.

Today the Céilí Mór was taking place on the Grand Parade.  The same stands were up as the day before, but there was an additional music stand, and, more importantly, a large space for traditional dancing.  The music was great and watching the people dancing was, for lack of a better word, joyful.  If you took a look on any of the dancers' faces, even the people who were clearly learning to dance that very day, they were just filled with joy and delight.  It was amazing to watch.
