A Baking Day, a Birthday, & the Christmas Market

Tasty Pumpkin Bread
Uglyish but Yummy Brownie Pops
Last Sunday me and my roomies had a bit of a spontaneous baking day.  Kayla had gotten a box of pumpkin bread mix and Kyla had left us her brownie pop kit.  Both were delicious, but the brownie pops weren't super pretty as I didn't trip the harder edges off, but oh well I like the edges.  We also spent the day listening to Backstreet Boys and watching the second Sherlock Holmes movie and Alex Reads Twilight (which I highly recommend).

Me, Kayla, & Montana at the Theatre
Yesterday was Kayla's 20th birthday.  So after she turned in her 12 page paper, we celebrated by giving her chocolate and a bracelet from Venice (Montana went recently).  Then we headed out and went to go see a movie.  I helped Kayla sneak chips (or fries as we'd call them) in from Chipsy Kings.  We all got blue slushies which turned out to be more like snow cones, but were still tasty.  There were surprisingly few people in the theatre for a Friday night, but the movie was adorable so we had fun.

Santa Hat Stalls
Today we headed out to the Christmas Market on the Grand Parade.  Some of the stalls were the same as previous markets on the Grand Parade (mostly food stalls), but there was a definite Christmas spirit in the air.  Not sure if it was the little roasted chestnuts stand, my roasted hazelnut mocha, or the stalls with Santa hats, but it was adorable.  While only Montana found a present for someone, we continued our shopping later and all got things we either wanted or needed.

Some of the Rides
Me at the Market
Not as traditionally Christmas-y though were the rides.  There was a slide called Helter Skelter as well as a carousal, a little train, and one of those rides with the swings hanging down.  I was tempted to go on one, but they were kind of expensive and meant for younger children.  So I settled with taking my photo at one of the little cute seats by the entrance.
